Meet Colin

Colin Seitz, MSODL, PCC

Colin is an action oriented, driven leader with a focus and passion for people, leadership, and culture, something that took root almost 30 years ago, when as a young US Marine, he learned the principles and foundations of leadership. Colin received several awards for his leadership and professionalism during his time as a Marine; using the same structure and principles that guided his leadership development as a Marine, prior to ending his active duty, Colin mentored and helped develop younger Marines preparing to take on leadership roles. His time in the Marine Corps greatly influenced and guided the path his professional life followed.

Colin has held many operational roles during his roughly 20 years in the corporate world, including head of operations and chief culture officer, a role that rolled up all the operational, leadership and organizational culture experience he had accumulated to that point. This was also when Colin realized that this work was his calling and after 4 years in the role, Colin decided to start Intrinsic Development Group to help other organizations maximize their potential through leadership development. At the core of this approach was a drive to address the lack of leadership preparation and training individuals received prior to taking on a leadership role. Colin’s master’s thesis focused on the impact of coaching and leadership development with middle managers, research that proved his hypothesis that middle managers, like executives, benefit from coaching, and is a valuable and effective tool to complement leadership development training.

Colin has hundreds of hours coaching c-suite leaders, executives, middle managers, first time managers and high potential employees from Fortune 100 companies, small to midsize companies and startups. When possible, Colin also incorporates coaching with organization and leadership development work, where he has helped public, private, non-profit and government agencies with leadership development, organizational culture, change management and organizational effectiveness.

Outside of client work, Colin frequently shares his experience and knowledge as a guest lecturer at the graduate and undergraduate level, where he covers  topics including leadership, organizational culture and organization development theory.

Colin holds a BA in Economics with a minor in Mathematics from Rutgers University, an MS in Organizational Development and Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with International Coaching Federation.
